Income generation strategy

To offer the best chances of improvement and growth, your organisation needs a clear income generation strategy which outlines areas where you want to innovate and develop. The strategy process will review different funding approaches, covering direct fundraising, social investment, trading income, appeals, corporate partnerships, funding from Trusts and Foundations, and statutory funding.

Identifying funding opportunities

From a one-off audit to an ongoing monitoring service, I can help identify the right funding sources for your organisation and networks. This includes identifying potential corporate partners, as well as funding from Trusts, Foundations and statutory sources. I'll deliver an action plan which is prioritised according to relevance and urgency.

Innovation and project conception

I can help you innovate and design a new project, service or product, building on your organisation’s key strengths. This often involves research and market analysis to help develop a fully costed business case. In some cases this will be in response to a specific bid or tender, and I'll help you work out out to differentiate your project to make it attractive to funders, whilst not compromising on your own organisation's needs and strategy.

Bid and proposal writing

From concept to completion, including budget compilation and due diligence if required. As well as a full bid writing service, I also offer a ‘critical friend’ review and redraft if required on bids you have developed. This service includes preparation and support for pitches to funders.

Partnership strategy and development

With strong networks across the not for profit sector, I can help you identify and build relationships with new cross-sector partners to support your income generation strategy and strengthen your service offer. My networks include large strategic bodies such as BBC and British Council, commercial partners, and small and large VCS organisations.

Coaching and mentoring

This includes one-off or ongoing advice to the senior team, and coaching on business development and bid-writing. Often I deliver this in conjunction with a critical friend bid review, so that you can immediately apply the knowledge you've learned in a practical way.
